Brahmi, or the provider of supreme knowledge. It has been highly regarded by the ancients as a toner and rejuvenator of the mind. Brahmi, however, is the common name of two different herbs. One bears the Latin name Bacopa Monnieri, and the other, Centella Asiatica or commonly Gotu Kola. While, both are known to provide nerve soothing and rejuvenative properties. While, Bacopa Monnieri is known for its very bitter taste very powerful cleansing properties, Gotu Kola is sweeter.
Brahmi is ground leaves from the bacopa plant. Brahmi is an ayurvedic herb which revitalize the nerves and the brain cells. Thus, increasing intelligence, longevity and memory, and decreasing senility and aging. Brahmi also strengthen immune system, both cleansing and feeding it. In addition, it improves concentration and guards against heart attacks. It was often drunken as tea prior to meditation. This tonic can be taken with tea and honey before meditation, also can be applied externally for skin issues with basil and black pepper.
